Air Traffic Controller (ATC) Physical Exams

Our office is very familiar with the unique requirements for ATC physicals and is proud to contract with several companies to meet their employee needs for medical clearance.

We offer ATC appointments from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. When making your appointment, please clarify for our staff you are seeking a physical as an Air Traffic Controller and specify your employer.

Depending on your employer, you may be given instructions to complete your medical certificate application on-line at the FAA MedXPress web site. At the end of your application, the system will give you a confirmation number. Be aware you must submit your portion of the 8500-8 application to the FAA before you will be given your confirmation number. Bring the confirmation number and a government-issued photo identification to your appointment. Dr. Dysart will perform your exam, log-on to your application, input the AME information, and print your certificate for you.

Important Things to Remember about MedXpress:

If you do not have an existing MedXPress account, it may take one business day or longer to complete your application.

MedXPress data is only accessible by the AME for a period of 2 weeks after confirmation is issued; please ensure your appointment is booked within that timeframe.

It is also VERY IMPORTANT for you to check your personal information prior to completion. Once the AME has entered their data and saved your certificate, changes to your personal information will have to be made by the FAA medical office; the AME will not be able to make changes.

For certain contracts, we accept paper versions of the FAA Form 8500-8.

Please make sure you bring any payment authorizations and/or medical clearance forms required by your employer to avoid charges to you or delays in processing your clearance.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow for administrative processing time. Our staff will endeavor to minimize your wait while ensuring the doctor has the requisite forms and information available to preclude a return visit where possible.
